# Key Levels
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/features/key-levels
Understand and apply Gextron’s dynamic support and resistance levels to guide your trades.
# 🔑 Key Levels
Key Levels are the foundation of the Gextron framework. They highlight **where price is likely to pause, reverse, or accelerate** based on option-premium dynamics and market-maker hedging.
Use **P-Trans / N-Trans** to set bias, **Gamma walls** to spot support/resistance, and combine with **Option Flow + Tape** for confirmation.
***
## See it in the app
## What each level means
The **bullish trigger level**.\
• Price holding **above P-Trans** signals bullish bias.\
• Confirmation is stronger when the **hourly time frame** is also holding above.\
• **How to identify:** P-Trans is the **first positive bar**, and the next **three strikes to the right** must also be positive.
The **bearish trigger level**.\
• Price holding **below N-Trans** signals bearish bias.\
• Stronger confirmation when the **hourly timeframe** is also holding below.\
• **How to identify:** N-Trans is the **first negative bar**, and the next **three strikes to the left** must also be negative.
The **tallest positive bar** in the distribution.\
• When price is moving **toward** MaxReward, it can act as the **largest resistance**.\
• If price **gets above and sustains** above MaxReward, it can **flip to the biggest support**.\
• Levels can **flip**: don’t assume permanent resistance.
The **tallest negative bar** in the distribution.\
• When price is moving **toward** MaxPaint, it can act as the **largest support**.\
• If price **breaks below and sustains** below MaxPaint, it can **flip to the biggest resistance**.\
• Levels can **flip**: not always support-only.
**Tall bars** on the chart that highlight important zones.\
• AOIs can act as **support or resistance**, depending on context.\
• Example: If price is **rising into** an AOI, it may act as resistance.\
• If price is **falling into** an AOI, it may act as support.\
• Like MaxReward and MaxPaint, AOIs can also **flip roles** based on price action.
Not all support/resistance levels are created equal.
Gextron **measures the strength** of each level based on option-premium dynamics, so you can quickly see which zones are **strong walls** versus weaker areas that may flip.

# Option Flow
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/features/option-flow
Understand unusual options activity and how to read color-coded transactions in Gextron.
# 🔄 Option Flow
Option Flow shows you **large, unusual transactions** in the options market. These flows help you see where aggressive buyers and sellers are positioning, often before the move happens.
Gextron’s Unusual Options feed **auto-updates in real time** and is **continuously scanning** for new prints. There’s no need to refresh; new orders stream in as they cross the tape.
***
## What you’ll see in Gextron
When you open the **Unusual Options** feed in Gextron, each row shows:
* ⏱ **Time** of execution
* 📄 **Contract details** (ticker, strike, expiration)
* 📅 **Days to expiration (DTE)**
* 💰 **Premium** of the transaction
* 📈 **Spot price** of the underlying
* ⚖️ **Moneyness** (ITM, ATM, OTM)
* 🧾 **Order type** (Sweep or Block — or blank for large single prints)
***
## Sweep vs Block
A **sweep** order is broken into smaller pieces and routed across multiple exchanges to **get filled quickly**.\
• Indicates **urgency** — trader wants in fast.\
• Seen as **more aggressive** than a block.\
• Often predictive if repeated near key levels.
A **block** order is a single large trade, usually negotiated off-exchange between institutions.\
• Less urgency than a sweep.\
• Still important — shows **size positioning**, but may be part of a spread.\
• If order type cell is empty in Gextron → it’s just a **large block**.
***
## Color Coding in Gextron
Gextron color codes every transaction to make it easy to **see sentiment and aggressiveness**.
* **White text** → Neutral sentiment\
• Could be noise or part of a spread.\
• Still useful in sequence context.
* **Red text** → Bearish sentiment\
• **Put** bought at the **ask** → bearish bet.\
• **Call** sold at the **bid** → bearish exit.
* **Green text** → Bullish sentiment\
• **Call** bought at the **ask** → bullish bet.\
• **Put** sold at the **bid** → bullish exit.
* **Red background** → Aggressively bearish\
• **Call** filled **below bid** = trader dumping bullish exposure.\
• **Put** filled **above ask** = trader paying up for bearish exposure.
* **Green background** → Aggressively bullish\
• **Call** filled **above ask** = trader paying up for bullish exposure.\
• **Put** filled **below bid** = trader dumping bearish exposure.
***
## Understanding Moneyness
**ITM (In the Money)** → Contracts already have intrinsic value. Safer, more expensive.\
**ATM (At the Money)** → Strike price ≈ underlying spot price. Most liquid, balanced risk/reward.\
**OTM (Out of the Money)** → Purely speculative. Cheap, but lower probability unless flow is very aggressive.
Moneyness helps you filter **serious institutional bets** (ITM/ATM sweeps at size) vs **lottery tickets** (OTM noise).
***
## Filtering and Lookback
Gextron gives you flexibility to filter **only the flows that matter to you**.
You can go back up to the **last 5 previous trading days** of Unusual Option Orders.
Only want to see **million-dollar orders**?\
Use the **premium filter operators**:
* `>` greater than
* `>=` greater than or equal to
* `=` equal to
* `<` less than
* `<=` less than or equal to
Example: `>= 1000000` → only shows orders **\$1M or bigger**.
Premium filtering lets you quickly isolate **institutional-size trades** and ignore small retail noise.
***
## Why Color + Context Matters
* **Green text on calls at the ask** → institutions betting bullish.
* **Red text on puts at the ask** → institutions betting bearish.
* **White text neutral** → may be spreads → don’t overreact.
* **Background colors** show when traders are **paying up or dumping aggressively** beyond normal bid/ask.
Never trade **color alone**. Always confirm with **P-Trans / N-Trans levels, MaxReward/MaxPaint, AOIs**, and the Tape.
***
## Example Workflow
Note if **sweeps** cluster at levels (above P-Trans or below N-Trans).
Focus on contracts with **2–3 weeks** to expiration (not zero-day noise).
Example: only show **orders >= \$1,000,000** to focus on real institutional bets.
Combine **text + background + sweep/block** to gauge conviction.
If Tape shows large prints in the same direction, confidence increases.

# Price Targets
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/features/price-targets
Forward-looking exit zones based on option premium flows.
# 🎯 Price Targets
Price Targets are one of the most **powerful features in Gextron**. They provide **forward-looking ranges** based on option premium flow and implied volatility.
***
## Opening Price Targets in the Dashboard
* Click on a ticker to open its panel.
* Look for the **Price Targets module** under the analysis section.
* These are the **daily and weekly targets** available on Hero and Free dashboards.
* Open the ticker view in Pro.
* Scroll down to the **Price Targets accordion**.
* Expand to see **daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets**.
***
## Why Price Targets Matter
Price Targets provide **clear exit zones** and help set **realistic profit goals** by expiration date.
* They are **forward-looking**, not lagging.
* Derived from **option premium flow** + **implied volatility**.
* Help avoid chasing **far OTM contracts** with low probability of success.
* Allow traders to plan **entries, exits, spreads, and hedges** with precision.
***
## Types of Price Targets
• Best for **intraday and ETF trading** (SPY, QQQ, IWM).\
• Recalculate daily as IV shifts and theta contracts.\
• Mark them every morning during your pre-market prep.
Daily targets are the **bread and butter** for SPX/ETF traders.
• Every **Friday expiration** is shown as `(W)` in Gextron.\
• If it’s a short week (holiday), the Friday expiration adjusts.\
• Great for swing trades or weekly income strategies.
• Gextron groups expirations by **month accordion**.\
• Open a month → see all available expirations.\
• Choose the **last Friday expiration of the month** as your monthly target.\
• Acts as the **top/bottom range for that month**.
• For **ETFs/indices** → shown as `(Q)` in Gextron.\
• For **equities** → use the expiration closest to the **next earnings date** (after earnings digests).\
• Mark as **QEM** on your chart.\
• Provides a **larger timeframe expected move** around quarterly catalysts.
• Use the **last week of December** or the **first week of January** after year end.\
• Mark these levels once the year begins.\
• Provides a long-term anchor to track annual ranges.
***
## How Gextron Builds Price Targets
* Always forward-looking
* Based on **option premium flows**
* Calculated ranges include:
* **Top range** → bullish target
* **Bottom range** → bearish target
* Useful for:
* Going long = top range target
* Going short = bottom range target
* Spreads = full range defines your boundaries
Price Targets update as **theta decays** and as **sides are hit**. Always re-check mid-session or after a target is reached.
***
## Recommended Targets to Mark
Especially important for **SPY, QQQ, IWM**. These guide your intraday trades.
Every Friday expiration. Use `(W)` markers in Gextron.
Open the month accordion and mark the **last expiration of the month**.
For ETFs = `(Q)` target.\
For equities = expiration closest to next **earnings date**.
Mark the **last week of December** or **first week of January** to anchor the yearly range.
***
## Example Workflow
1. Pre-market → open ticker, mark **daily targets**.
2. Swing setups → add **weekly (W)** and **monthly** levels.
3. Quarterly catalyst → mark **QEM** or `(Q)` level.
4. Yearly anchor → mark end-of-year level.
5. Update targets mid-session if theta contracts or if one side is already hit.
***
## What to Read Next

Structure your exits using targets for at least **1:2 or 1:3 R:R**.
# Search
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/features/search
Find any of the 6,500+ U.S. optionable tickers instantly in Gextron.
# 🔍 Search
The **Search** feature gives you access to over **6,500 U.S. optionable tickers** directly inside Gextron. You can pull up any security in seconds using ticker, company name, or security name.
Search is **plan-dependent**:
* **Free Plan** → limited to **SPY, QQQ, IWM** only
* **Hero Plan** → access to the **full universe** (6,500+ tickers)
* **Pro Plan** → full universe + all Pro features (Tape, advanced targets, etc.)
***
## How to Open Search
* On the far **left navigation bar**, click on the **Search tab**.
* A dialog opens → start typing the **ticker symbol**, **company name**, or **security name**.
* Press **Ctrl + K** (Windows) or **Cmd + K** (Mac).
* The **Search dialog** pops up instantly.
* Begin typing and results will appear in real time.
* Simply start typing a **ticker symbol** or **company name**.
* Gextron will automatically detect input and open the **Search results** dialog.
* No extra clicks required.
***
## What You Can Search
* **Ticker symbol** (e.g., `AAPL`)
* **Company name** (e.g., `Apple`)
* **Security name** (e.g., `Apple Inc. Common Stock`)
Search is designed to be **fast and forgiving** — partial matches and common abbreviations still surface results.
***
## Why It Matters
* Quickly navigate the **entire options universe** (6,500+ names).
* No need to memorize tickers — type company names instead.
* Integrated with the **Pro Dashboard** → once selected, the ticker loads instantly into Key Levels, Price Targets, Option Flow, or Tape.
***
## Example Workflow
Use **Cmd/Ctrl + K** to bring up the dialog instantly.
Example: type **TSLA** or just **Tesla** — both return the security.
Press **Enter** to load the ticker into the dashboard.
***
## What to Read Next
Once you’ve loaded a ticker, start by marking its P-Trans and N-Trans.
See where price can realistically go by daily, weekly, or monthly targets.
# Tape Reading
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/features/tape
Real-time order tape for equities and options in Gextron Pro.
# 📊 Tape Reading (Pro)
Tape Reading is a **Pro-only feature** in Gextron. It gives you a **real-time stream of every transaction**, so you can see how price reacts when it hits **P-Trans, N-Trans, MaxReward, MaxPaint, or AOIs**.
The **Tape is always streaming**. No refresh needed — every transaction is captured and displayed the instant it crosses.
***
## What you get in Pro
• Shows **every stock transaction** hitting the tape.\
• Same **color coding** as Option Flow.\
• Useful for seeing how equities behave at **levels** (buyers or sellers stepping in).
• Shows **every option transaction** in real time.\
• Same **color coding rules** as Unusual Options Activity.\
• Filter by **Premium** (as low as \$1) or **Days to Expiration (DTE)**.\
• Same filter operators: `>`, `>=`, `=`, `<`, `<=`.
***
## Color Coding in the Tape
The Tape uses the **exact same system** as Option Flow:
* **White text** → Neutral (often spreads / noise).
* **Red text** → Bearish:\
• **Put** bought at ask\
• **Call** sold at bid
* **Green text** → Bullish:\
• **Call** bought at ask\
• **Put** sold at bid
* **Red background** → Aggressively bearish\
• **Call** filled below bid\
• **Put** filled above ask
* **Green background** → Aggressively bullish\
• **Call** filled above ask\
• **Put** filled below bid
The Tape updates instantly — use **clusters of aggressive orders** at levels as confirmation.
***
## Filtering the Tape
You can filter the Option Tape to isolate only the transactions that matter:
* **Premium filter** → e.g., `>= 1000000` shows only **\$1M+ option trades**
* **DTE filter** → focus on contracts with **2–3 weeks to expiry** instead of noisy 0DTE
* **Equity Tape** → shows all equity prints (no premium filter, but color still applies)
Filtering lets you **cut through noise** and see only the **institutional-sized, high-probability prints**.

• **Red** = bearish side\
• **Background colors** = aggressive fills beyond bid/ask
* Use this to confirm reactions at **AOIs, P-Trans, N-Trans, MaxReward, or MaxPaint**.
* **Daily Levels** → Forward-looking support/resistance from option market math models.
* **Price Targets** → Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly targets with ranges.
* **Call/Puts Dominated Histogram** → Visualizes net positioning at strikes (call side vs put side).
* Hover over strikes to see **net positioning** (e.g., “5.39B net at strike 651.88”).
* **Quote Box** → Ticker details:\
• Symbol + security name\
• Spot, open, high, low, previous close
* **Unusual Options (UOA)** → Real-time list of large trades:\
• Time, Contract, DTE, Premium, Spot\
• Same **color coding** as Option Flow
* Filter UOA by **trading day** (today or up to 5 previous sessions).
* Streams **every option trade** in real time.
* Same color coding as UOA.
* Filter by **Premium** (e.g., `>= 1000000` for million-dollar+ orders).
* Filter by **Days to Expiration (DTE)**.
* Lets you confirm aggressive buying/selling **at your marked levels**.
***
## How to Use the Dashboard
Mark **P-Trans, N-Trans, AOIs, MaxReward, MaxPaint**, and the nearest **daily/weekly targets**.
As price tests your levels, see if equity prints align with bullish (green) or bearish (red) activity.
Look for large unusual options hitting near those levels, confirming direction.
Use premium/DTE filters to zoom in on **institutional-sized trades** at the exact levels you’re watching.
***
## Key Takeaway
The Pro Dashboard is designed so that:
* 📊 **Equity Tape** → shows how stock itself is trading
* 🔄 **UOA + Option Tape** → reveal institutional positioning
* 🎯 **Levels + Targets** → give the forward-looking roadmap
Together, they give you a **complete real-time picture** of price action + options flow at the levels that matter.

# Lookup Credits
Source: https://docs.gextron.com/membership/lookups
Understand how Gextron lookups are counted and how to track your usage.
# 🪙 Lookup Credits
A **lookup** is counted each time you request data for a **ticker** inside Gextron.\
This could be loading **Key Levels**, **Price Targets**, **Option Flow**, or the **Tape** for that symbol.
***
## How Lookups Work
* When you **search or open a ticker**, it counts as **1 lookup**.
* You get a **60-second grace period**: refreshing or reloading the same ticker within 60 seconds does **not** count as an additional lookup.
* Switching to a different ticker, or coming back after the grace period, will count as a new lookup.
> 💡 Example: You open SPX at 10:01 → that’s 1 lookup.\
> Refresh at 10:01:30 → no new lookup.\
> Refresh again at 10:02:15 → counts as another lookup.
***
## Tracking Your Usage
You can see your **current lookup balance and history** directly in the dashboard:

## Expiration Dates
* For **monthly targets** → choose contracts **45–60 days out**.
* For **weekly setups** → choose contracts with **2–3 weeks** until expiration.
* For **day trades / scalps** → use **0DTE or 1DTE contracts**, but size smaller.
***
## Strike Price
* Favor **in-the-money (ITM)** contracts for higher probability and stability.
* Typical range: **30–38 delta** for swing trades.
* Go slightly out-of-the-money (OTM) only when momentum and flow are strong.
***
## Volume & Open Interest
* Stick to contracts with **high liquidity** (tight spreads, strong volume).
* Avoid illiquid strikes where slippage eats profits.
***
## Example
* Market bias: bullish above P-Trans on QQQ.
* Entry at support level with daily target overhead.
* Select QQQ call option, **30 delta, 45 days to expiration**.

Structure trades with favorable risk/reward using Gextron’s levels and targets.
# ⚖️ Risk & Reward
Successful trading isn’t about winning every trade — it’s about making sure your **wins are bigger than your losses**.\
Gextron makes this easier by giving you **objective levels and targets** to anchor your risk/reward (R:R) calculations.
***
## What is Risk/Reward?
* **Risk** = how much you’re willing to lose if the trade fails
* **Reward** = your profit target if the trade works
* Expressed as a ratio (e.g. **1:3 R:R** = risking $1 to potentially make $3)
> 📊 Gextron traders aim for **minimum 1:3 R:R** on option trades.
***
## Using Gextron Levels for Risk
* Place stops **just beyond Key Levels** (P-Trans, N-Trans, or Gamma walls).
* This ensures you’re out quickly if the market invalidates your setup.
* Example: If you enter long above P-Trans, stop goes just below N-Trans.
***
## Using Price Targets for Reward
* Set profit targets at **daily or weekly Price Targets**.
* Scale out in zones where Gextron shows pressure (Gamma walls, resistance bands).
* Let a portion run if higher targets are in play.
***
## Example Trade
* SPX above P-Trans at 5200 → bullish bias
* Daily Price Target = 5250
* Risk = 20 points (stop at 5180)
* Reward = 50 points (target 5250)
* R:R = **1:2.5** → trade only makes sense if flow/tape are strongly bullish
***
## Best Practices
* Never enter trades with less than **1:2 R:R**
* Reduce position size instead of moving stops wider
* Use Gextron’s **levels + targets + flow** together to validate setups
***
⚡ **Key Takeaway:** With Gextron, your edge comes from combining **defined risk** (levels) with **clear reward zones** (targets) so you only take trades where the math works in your favor.

Step-by-step guide to using Gextron for finding, planning, and executing trades.
# 📈 Trading Workflow
This workflow shows how to move from **market scan → analysis → trade execution** using Gextron.
***
## Step 1: Start with Key Levels
* Begin with **P-Trans / N-Trans** and Gamma walls on major tickers (SPX, QQQ, IWM).
* These levels show where market maker hedging can shift the market.
* Define your **bias**:
* Above P-Trans → bullish bias
* Below N-Trans → bearish bias
***
## Step 2: Cross-Check Price Targets
* Look at **daily and weekly targets** to plan exits in advance.
* Daily targets = short-term intraday moves
* Weekly targets = swing or multi-day setups
***
## Step 3: Confirm with Option Flow
* Watch for **Unusual Options Activity (UOA)**.
* Bullish sweeps near support = confirmation for long calls.
* Bearish sweeps near resistance = confirmation for puts/shorts.
***
## Step 4: Refine with the Tape
* The **Tape** shows actual orders hitting the market.
* Use it to confirm conviction:
* Sweeps & blocks hitting the ask = aggressive buying
* Large prints at support = defense holding
* Size hitting the bid = bearish pressure
***
## Step 5: Execute & Manage
* Enter near **levels** with favorable risk/reward.
* Scale out at **price targets**.
* Move stops up as price works in your favor.
