# Price Targets

> Forward-looking exit zones based on option premium flows.

# 🎯 Price Targets

Price Targets are one of the most **powerful features in Gextron**. They provide **forward-looking ranges** based on option premium flow and implied volatility.

## Opening Price Targets in the Dashboard

    * Look for the **Price Targets module** under the analysis section.
    * These are the **daily and weekly targets** available on Hero and Free dashboards.

## Why Price Targets Matter

* Derived from **option premium flow** + **implied volatility**.
* Help avoid chasing **far OTM contracts** with low probability of success.
* Allow traders to plan **entries, exits, spreads, and hedges** with precision.

## Types of Price Targets

    • Best for **intraday and ETF trading** (SPY, QQQ, IWM).\
    • Recalculate daily as IV shifts and theta contracts.\
    • Mark them every morning during your pre-market prep.

    • Every **Friday expiration** is shown as `(W)` in Gextron.\
    • If it’s a short week (holiday), the Friday expiration adjusts.\
    • Great for swing trades or weekly income strategies.

    • Gextron groups expirations by **month accordion**.\
    • Open a month → see all available expirations.\
    • Choose the **last Friday expiration of the month** as your monthly target.\
    • Acts as the **top/bottom range for that month**.

  <Accordion title="Quarterly Expected Moves (Q / QEM)">
    • For **ETFs/indices** → shown as `(Q)` in Gextron.\
    • For **equities** → use the expiration closest to the **next earnings date** (after earnings digests).\
    • Mark as **QEM** on your chart.\
    • Provides a **larger timeframe expected move** around quarterly catalysts.

    • Use the **last week of December** or the **first week of January** after year end.\
    • Mark these levels once the year begins.\
    • Provides a long-term anchor to track annual ranges.

## How Gextron Builds Price Targets

* Always forward-looking
* Based on **option premium flows**
* Calculated ranges include:
  * **Top range** → bullish target
  * **Bottom range** → bearish target
* Useful for:
  * Going long = top range target
  * Going short = bottom range target
  * Spreads = full range defines your boundaries

## Recommended Targets to Mark

    For ETFs = `(Q)` target.\

    Mark the **last week of December** or **first week of January** to anchor the yearly range.

## Example Workflow

1. Pre-market → open ticker, mark **daily targets**.
2. Swing setups → add **weekly (W)** and **monthly** levels.
3. Quarterly catalyst → mark **QEM** or `(Q)` level.
4. Yearly anchor → mark end-of-year level.
5. Update targets mid-session if theta contracts or if one side is already hit.
